froth + bubble

I always associate this poem with Halloween because

froth + bubble

sounds like

bubble bubble toil + trouble

Poem by Adam Lindsay Gordon, Australian poet. Greg found it for me. Hey, I'm as surprised as you are.

Photo of Shoshone Falls, Idaho, a frothy and bubbly venue that also houses a penny smasher. I cannot pass those things without partaking. We spotted a NICKEL smasher at the CN building in Toronto but it only took Canadian nickels. I begged a fanny pack-wearing Canuck to trade me coins. He was such a gentleman. Shortly thereafter I enjoyed the great pleasure of cranking my coin through the gears while my husband and daughter stood to the side wearing chagrin and rolled eyes. Whatever. They should know me by now.
